July 1,2010 New Spa will host a skin care workshop focusing on rosacea led by one of our licensed estheticians. This workshop will be approximately 2 hours long starting at 5:30 pm. Rosacea is a progressive vascular disorder that affects the facial skin and eyes. It usually starts out quite innocently as a mild flush across the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead. During the early stages, this flush comes and goes, seeming to have a mind of its own. As the disorder progresses, facial redness becomes more intense, taking on the appearance of mild sunburn or windburn. In areas of facial redness, tiny broken blood vessels and red bumps may also become visible. In the moderate to severe stages, facial inflammation usually intensifies, resulting in permanent redness, swelling, and burning sensations. In the most advanced cases, rosacea can cause facial disfigurement and disabling burning sensations.

Rosacea affects millions of people worldwide. In the United States an estimated 13 million Americans are afflicted by this disease (1 in 20 people).

Starting June 3,2010, New Spa will be hosting a series of beauty and health workshops lead by our licensed estheticians, makeup artists, and massage therapists. Skin workshops will include topics such as teen acne, adult acne, anti-aging, and rosacea. We will discuss the benefits and effects of skin peels. One of our makeup artists will hold workshops on makeup techniques and provide color matching using our makeup partner Colorescience. A licensed massage therapist will discuss the positive aspects of massage including pregnancy massage, deep tissue massage and sports massage.

Each workshop will be approximately 2 hours long. Drinks will be provided. The price is $25 and is available only to the first 10 people who sign up for each workshop. Each attendee will also be given a $25 gift certificate that can be used on future product and treatment services.
